We have a lot of credit card debt with bad interest rates. We can't get the banks to agree to lower rates. We have a child about to begin college next year. We are highly mortgaged. I am partially disabled, but my spouse works. We are getting by, but only just. We haven't used a credit card except for emergencies in years because we recognized the debt problem. I am afraid of the impact of the debt consolidation on credit score, ability to obtain any financing for my shild, and household emergencies.A debt consolidation would run about 4 years.I chose a company from the Better Business Bureau.
After you do debt consolidation, how long does it take to get good credit back?
Lots of people are consolidating there debt and doing loan settlements. These have a negative affect on your credit. How long after it is all paid off and you are back to making on time payments does it take to get good credit again?

I share a home mortgage of a house that I am not considering to short sale if I don't find a solution. Recently we have modified the monthly payment with the bank but, the payment is still high due that I do not have any type of income after losing my unemployment benefits due to being placed on bed rest because I am carrying a high risk pregnancy.I am very behind on my payments, I have been trying my best but I have found myself paying LATE fees every month because I pay as I come up with money, some of my bills are more than a month late and one credit card I can't even make their minimum payment I tried making arrangements with them but it was an unsuccessful intent.I made a research about the three options I would have to deal with my debts. So, far after learning a little bet of the three, I thought bankruptcy would be my best option because either way my credit history will be damaged, I do not plan on adding the house on the bankruptcy, I have a debt with the state which I now I have to pay that on my own .I do not know if after the baby is born that I will have an stable income. And if I do, I wonder how far behind on payments I will be.Does any of you have better understanding about those 3 options and if you consider that for my case, bankruptcy is the best option even though there are 2 types of bankruptcy ??

I would like to consolidate all of my credit card bills into ONE bill each month. I don't want debt consolidation, I don't want any stupid company that is going to take my money, I just want to be able to put all of my credit card bills into one big payment each month. Is there a company that isn't going to take half of my payments each month to do this?

I have about $3400 in debt I need to get paid off and I have decided to go to CareOne Credit to help me with this . About 2 of my accounts are charged off, and are currently in third party debt collectors. CareOne credit had said they send out proposals and they do deal with collections agencys as well so i should be just ok with this. One of my debt collectors are dealing with Creditors Finacial group and they are extremely RUDE and just want to make me pay the full amount and threatening to sue me over $700...what should I do? Ever since I made a payment of $50 thats all they say they could take but must take the $227 instead...this is very frustrating. I said I could pay the $50 a month but thats all I could pay. I never heard of a debt collector not willing to take any kind of payments whatsoever. What should I do with this?

I talked to someone on the phone that told us there company can cut our credit card debt by 40 %. I have checked the company out and others with BBB. None of them get a positive rating from BBB. Debt Consolidation - Medical Bills?
Help I am drowning in medical bills I have been trying my best to work with the local hospital regarding the 6 " different accounts" they show in their system for me which are all related to the pregnancy & delivery of my son this February . They have refused to combine the accounts and allow me to make one monthly payment on my balance, instead only credit my payment to my newest account opened & have turned all the others in as bad debt I owe a total of around $4000 to the hospital, but they have already turned in $1100 to the county DA requesting a wage garnishment because they say I have " refused" to pay them I am considering trying to get a debt consolidation loan to pay off these bills, just so I won't have to deal with the embarrassment & harrassment from the hospitals creditors but, because they've turned these accounts in as bad debt, my credit score has dropped below 600 Is there anywhere I can turn for help??
